Hey there lonely whale

Back in '04 the NYT printed an article about a whale who roams the ocean alone.  This whale has been tracked since 92 and has not been seen with other whales.  No family, no friends, no lover.  The whale keeps sending out it's message but to no avail.  Instead of the typical 12-25 Hz that most whales communicate in this one sends out signals down near 52 Hz.  Imagine speaking in pedal tones.  Poor thing can't be heard by others of its kind.
That would be rough to be living in a world populated by others of your kind but they just ignore you.

  1. Interesting that their are so many theories as why this whale seems alone, everything from it being disabled or deaf to cross-bred.
